I like this picture to use as background for my masthead. As it shows the school's logo and the blue background is simple and associated with being bright and positive.

I like this picture as the students are speaking to a teacher and it portrays that the teachers are always free to chat and very down to earth. But I cannot use it because it is not a medium close up and that is the requirement for the magazine.  

 This medium close up is good, but feel there are better pictures that can be used because half the students face on the left is cut out.

 I have chosen to use this picture, however, I am cropping it to focus on the girl in the middle. This implies that the students at the school are avid readers and enjoy learning. The final cropped image will be a meduim close-up.
